Introduction
In our previous blog, we discussed the ‘invisible load’ that tech professionals carry. Last week, our founder Amrita Joerawan took this conversation to the main stage of UX Rotterdam at Theater Zuidplein. The verdict? The creative industry is ready for a systemic upgrade.
The reality of mental health and resilience in UX and Tech
UX Rotterdam is known as a hub where “inspiration and expertise meet,” but this year, the conversation shifted toward the most critical system in the room: the human behind the screen. Amrita’s keynote didn’t just share theories; it utilized an interactive experiment that revealed a startling consensus.
The vast majority of the audience—comprised of top-tier designers and strategists, identified with high levels of stress and the need for better mental resilience.
It’s clear that burnout prevention and wellbeing are no longer “nice-to-haves,” but essential components of a modern strategy. One of the core lessons from the event is that we are currently operating on ‘Human Debt.’ We push our boundaries until the system crashes.
